Apple held an event yesterday where they announced, among other things Mac OS X Lion and new Macbook Air models. Those are interesting and get people excited about products in the way that sometimes seems like only Apple can, but I noticed something else when I watched the keynote video last night.

In a post Big Cable world,* I think the Apple TV is going to be the best solution for watching TV on your TV. Apple is doing a wonderful thing for consumers (and a terrible thing for content providers) that I haven’t really seen discussed anywhere. I saw the Social Network yesterday and one of the central themes was Zuckerburg’s desire to make Facebook cool, and, by association, to be cool.
