Diet Soda Fast Day Three

See here to learn what this is all about.

Remember when you were a kid, and you really wanted your dad to buy you a Super Nintendo? Only he, rightfully, thought you would spend all of your time playing it. “You already spend enough hours playing games on our Macintosh computer,” he may have said. He probably had a point. But at some point Spectre Challenger and Monkey Island 2 weren’t enough. You felt like you needed to play Turtles in Time. It was possibly in the constitution that you should have access to NBA Jam: Tournament Edition and Donkey Kong Country. You just kept on thinking about it. Maybe you were doing real boy activities like learning post-moves in basketball or batting cleanup and covering a surprising amount of ground in the outfield in baseball, but during those real boy past times you just kept on thinking about Super Nintendo and how much better your life would be if you had access to it at all times. Truth be told, it would make you a better person. You probably knew this in the deepest, doubt-free, corner of your heart. Which is why, when you went to your friends’ houses, you thoughtfully suggested that the two of you should play some Mega Man X. Maybe your fresh perspective on it could finally lead to the defeat of Sheep Man. Maybe you were just being helpful.

Or maybe, you were being singleminded. And maybe you can look back on those days and relate to how I feel now. Give me Diet Dr. Pepper.
